Mark's Virtual Playground has gone by the wayside. It is now "Marktic.com." With the new name comes a new look. I did some reorganizing as well. There are still a few tweaks yet to be done but I think the major stuff is complete. Complete enough to roll it out anyway.

Several key things that have changed, other than the name:

• If you had a user id on the old site it still works here, however for those who had access to privileged genealogy stuff that role was removed because I have removed most of the content this applied to. I may replace it later. The family tree is/will be available later on to everyone....more to come on this issue,
• The photo gallery and family tree have been moved into their own sub-domain. They are no longer "inside" the main site. I'm still working on those but they should be available soon,
• Some of the content has been reorganized, and in some cases renamed to comply with a new naming convention.
• The content management system (drupal) has been updated to the latest release,
• The new look is a user contributed theme that I tweaked slightly.

Why "Marktic" for a website name? Well, I always thought "Mark's Virtual Playground" was too long but couldn't think of anything better that wasn't already taken. Then I ran across the suffix "-tic" which meant "having to do with." Since this site had to do with me it seemed a logical, and meaningful, choice. Plus it was available! So Marktic is was.
